Sprinkler Size and Thread Questions
At Turf Control, we offer a wide range of sprinklers with various size and thread options to accommodate the diverse needs of our customers. It is essential to select the correct size and thread type for your sprinkler system to ensure proper installation and optimal performance.
Our sprinklers come with two types of pipe threads:
NPT (National Pipe Tapered) Threads
NPT threads are the most commonly used pipe thread type in the United States. The tapered design creates a tight seal as the male and female threads are joined, providing a reliable and leak-free connection. As you tighten the joint, the threads are compressed, forming a secure seal. The NPT threads are suitable for a wide range of applications, including water, gas, and air systems.
O-Ring Sealed Square Cut ACME Threads
O-Ring sealed square cut ACME threads offer an alternative to NPT threads, providing a robust and reliable connection with the added benefit of an O-Ring seal. The square cut ACME threads allow for easy assembly and disassembly, while the O-Ring creates a tight seal, preventing leaks and ensuring a secure connection. This type of thread is particularly suited for applications where frequent disconnection and reconnection are required.
Depending on the brand and part number ordered, our sprinklers are available in the following sizes: 1", 1.25", and 1.5". It is crucial to choose the correct size and thread type for your specific application to avoid potential issues during installation and operation. If you are unsure about the appropriate size or thread type for your sprinkler system, our customer service team is always available to provide guidance and assistance.
Please note that ordering the wrong size may result in a restocking fee, as detailed in our Terms of Service. To avoid this, we encourage you to consult with our customer service team or refer to your sprinkler system specifications before placing an order.
